Why did you get into physical therapy?
I got into physical therapy mostly because my dad was a doctor; I was naturally inclined to help people heal. In 1995 I got a tremendous hip injury; that’s when I decided to learn more about how to help myself and others recover from injury.
Tell us about your practice. Where, and what do you specialize in?
I opened my clinic in 2006. I specialized in youth motor and corrective exercise, and I do functional training as a youth corrective exercise coach. I also work with CrossFit instructors—coaching movement. Soccer is my passion, so I often work with soccer players.
Knees are the most commonly injured body part I see in fitness.
What is the most complicated/interesting injury you’ve treated?
The one I remember most was treating a goalkeeper that hit the side of his knee with the goal post. It immediately turned purple; there wasn’t any fracture, but he had about 4 weeks of recovery time and several edema taping treatments.
I heard about RockTape during the CrossFit Games. I became interested in the courses, enrolled, took them all and eventually started teaching. At my clinic, we compliment ALL of our therapy with RockTape to help our patients move better and help alleviate pain throughout the recovery process.
What’s your favorite RockTape product?
I love RockBalls. Most of my patients begin therapy in my clinic by taking off their shoes and start rolling.
